Very nice. I like the sense of longing...and sadness. I like the simple use of color. The gradient is very nice...it makes it feel more dreamlike/memory like.

I like the half drawn lines.
The simplicity of the hand drawing.
The theme.

The background is missing something, like the gradient does not entirely invoke the complete emotion.
My wild guess.

great piece. wow. and i like the background, anything more would mess with the fairly complex lines and composition in the foreground. for me anyway. :}

your style for this type of pieces is unmistakable. i like how such a simple image can transmit complex feelings and emotions. and i find the stripes on the guy's sweater pretty amazing.

I think your wild guess isn't as wild as you might think. I like it but I also have the sense there's something wrong or missing in the piece.
